MorTrack Journey™:

Giving families real-time visibility into the care of their loved one.

The first family-facing experience built on a verified Digital Chain of Custody, turning the stress of uncertainty into the comfort of knowing.

Littleton, CO — MorTrack, the operating system for Digital Chain of Custody in deathcare, today announced the launch of MorTrack Journey™, a secure family-facing experience that gives families real-time visibility into the care of their loved one — from the moment of transfer through to ready for pickup.

For decades, families have been asked to place their deepest trust in funeral professionals during the hardest week of their lives and then left to wonder what is happening, and when. People today expect to see where a package or a meal is in real time, yet at life’s most significant moment, the most common experience is uncertainty and anxious phone calls that follow. MorTrack Journey changes that.

With MorTrack Journey, families who have entrusted a loved one to a participating funeral home or crematory can privately follow each verified milestone of care on a simple, dignified timeline. For example:

1 Transfer complete

2 Arrived at the funeral home

3 Identification completed

4 Cremation authorized

5 Cremation complete

6 Returned to the funeral home

7 Ready for pickup

What makes MorTrack Journey different from any notification or tracking system that has come before it is the source of its information. Every approved milestone displayed to a family is generated automatically from MorTrack's Digital Chain of Custody — a documented, time-stamped, signature-verified record of care captured at the moment work is performed. Families are not viewing updates entered manually after the fact; they are seeing care that has been documented and verified at the point it happened. It is transparency that is also provable.

“Deathcare runs on trust, and trust, to mean anything, has to be provable. We built MorTrack so funeral homes, removal companies, mortuaries, and crematories could answer any question about any case with a record instead of a recollection. MorTrack Journey takes that same accountability and, with the funeral home’s choice, shares the comfort of it with the family. The stress of not knowing is one of the heaviest parts of grief. This is our way of lifting some of it.” — Reid Hanson, CEO of MorTrack

MorTrack Journey is fully controlled by the funeral home or crematory. The experience can be switched on or off, and the funeral home decides which milestones are shared. For providers, it reduces the volume of inbound “where is my loved one?” calls and turns the accountability they already practice into a visible, trust-building differentiator in their community.

In addition to human deathcare, MorTrack Journey also supports pet aftercare providers. As pets increasingly occupy the role of family members, pet owners are seeking the same transparency, dignity, and accountability throughout the cremation and return process. MorTrack Journey brings verified visibility to pet families as well, helping answer one of the most common questions after a loss: "Where are they now?"

"Families remember how they felt long after they remember the details," Hanson added. "When providers can replace uncertainty with reassurance and trust with proof, they create a level of care families never forget."

MorTrack Journey is available now as part of the MorTrack platform.
